Just a quick question in re the Canon photocopier SDK mentioned in the pixels to plastic presentation.
Patents filed in 1987 are going to expire this year. The 1990′s are going to come soon enough and the rapid tech growth of the last 20 years is going to become open sourced over the next 20. Do you see any incentive for generation C to re-develop items whose core technologies have been released from intellectual property concerns? Will this become important if generation C really wants to start developing individual tools and technologies?
