And you know what else I’d buy?

A version of iPhoto on my computer that gave me more features as I tagged more photos, and interrupted me every day to challenge me to remember my tags and add new ones. An application that really cared about the process of adding tags.

Or a game that made me join up my filed receipts against entries on my bank account website, giving me my subscription fee back if I offset all my expenses against tax. A game of tidying up.

Or a barometer that shows whether my email inbox is bigger or smaller than it was this time yesterday. We built a prototype for Nokia that did just that, in a very background awareness kind of way. I used it for a week, and it’s the only week in the past 6 years that I dealt with more email than I received. I turned it off. It wouldn’t do to get a reputation for being responsive.
