So in a way, when I talk about domestic artificial intelligence, I’m contradicting myself.

Artificial intelligence was intended to replace human intelligence.

But here I am saying we can live alongside one-another, just as we live in the same homes as domestic pets, like dogs and cats.

But I think we can, I believe it’s already happening, and that’s what I’m going to show you for the rest of this talk. How we’re living alongside A.I. just as we live with domestic animals, and where that’s going.

This picture, by the way, is the pattern a Roomba robot vacuum cleaner takes while it’s getting to know your room and cleaning it. Look, this is where it starts off, spiralling in the middle to discover the room, and then it bounces around to cover the carpet, and it senses the walls and runs along them.

It’s a bit alien, but it’s very pretty.
