But first I want to talk about things that start abruptly.

I saw the movie Sunshine (trailer) the other week. This is not a spoiler I’m about to give you—it’s literally the opening words of the film.

  • Our Sun is about to die
  • There’s a spaceship on the way there to reboot it
  • It’s all a bit experimental

Gosh!

The rest of the film is unfolding that premise, with a nod to people who like old-fashioned things like plot and narrative arc.

See, I like this pattern.

First we have some context: The Sun, Generation C.

Then we introduce an idea. A kind of, “so here’s a thing.”

There’s a spaceship on the way to the Sun to reboot it. Generation C carry their expectations to all products.

Then there’s a but. There’s always an “oh no!”

It’s untested. You’d better make this products or Gen C will do it themselves.
