It would be be remiss of me not to mention the walking cities designed by Ron Herron at Archigram in 1964. At the time it was to provoke a discussion about efficiency: the cities were intended for workers to live in, and because the cities could walk to the offices, the workers wouldn’t need to commute.

Now, in the year 2008, I work at home with an internet connection.

But I’d prefer it if my house had legs.

This presentation puts forward 'movement' as a metaphor for the Web, introduces the motivations flowchart design process, and demonstrates Snap, a way of syndicating interactions from websites to the desktop. It is called Movement and was originally delivered in February 2008 at Web Directions North 2008 in Vancouver.
