These are segments from a Japanese science show for children called “Pythagora Switch”. I’m not going to butcher the title in Japanese with my terrible pronunciation.

I think these are called Rube Goldberg machines in North America. We call them Heath Robinson machines in the UK. It’s fun to watch the constant chain of cause and effect, and cause and effect, and cause and effect…

This presentation puts forward 'movement' as a metaphor for the Web, introduces the motivations flowchart design process, and demonstrates Snap, a way of syndicating interactions from websites to the desktop. It is called Movement and was originally delivered in February 2008 at Web Directions North 2008 in Vancouver.
